Round 5 Competitors

Mark Downey has lived for over 14 years in Hungary, a place he likes to call home, compared to "home home" in Ireland. Never imagining he would have ended up in one place for so long, he now has two wonderful boys to keep him here.He has spent the last two-plus years on a one-year sabbatical being a full-time Daddy; a slight schedule overrun for someone who otherwise likes to think he is an experienced project manager. While on sabbatical Mark has changed close to 5000 nappies, had over 800 playground visits, negotiated numerous tantrums and helped raise his two pension plans. A seasoned socialite, shackled by nippers, Mark humbly apologises for the numerous missed invitations, reorganised plans and general lethargy when it comes to sharing a pint and chat in recent years.

Richard Holmes is a man of few words (although he claims to have a big vocabulary) but he is determined not to let that hold him back when he takes to the stage for GOTG in February. Originally from Birmingham in the UK, he has been living in Budapest for 13 years and lives with his wife and their two children and his wife's two dogs which he has to walk every morning. Not that you'd ever hear him complaining.
